MEDIEVAL MADONIE MOUNTAIN

| Little ancient villages, an itinerary for discovering churches,
castles and forts among the enchanted mountains of the Madonie.

| Upon arrival in Palermo Airport, you
meet your escort, and you will be transfereed by private means
to Cefalù. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. |
| >>2nd day CEFALU' - CASTELBUONO |
| After breakfast, we leave for Castelbuono.
Visit the castle, built by Francesco I Ventimiglia in 1316,
the Chiesa Madre, the museum, the fountain of Venus Ciprea.
Lunch at a restaurant. Proceed to Cefalù and visit the Cathedral,
the pubblic wash house, the Osterio Magno and the Mandralisca
Museum. Dinner and overnight. |
| >>3rd day GERACI - PETRALIA SOPRANA
- PETRALIA SOTTANA |
| This morning we drive to Geraci, a town
that was conquered by the Arab in 840 and two centuries later
was under the Norman dominion. The build-up area developped
around the castle (in ruins). you can walk among the arab
streets. We will admire the Chiesa del Collegio di Maria,
in baroque style, and the late medieval Chiesa Madre, Santa
Maggiore (Visit the tresaure of the Ventimiglia Family). Lunch
at restaurant. After lunch, proceed to the Petralie: Soprana
and Sottana. Dinner and overnight. |
| >>4th day POLIZZI GENEROSA - TERMINI
IMERESE |
| After breakfast we leave for Polizzi
Generosa. Visit the Castle built by Ruggero I, the church
of SS.Salvatore, the monastery of the Domenicani, the Town
hall and the Mother Church. Lunch at a restaurant. Proceed
to Termini Imerese. Dinner and overnight. |

| After breakfast we leave to Caccamo.
Visit the Castle and the ancient town. Lunch at a restaurant
and departure. |
