The road of the wine - Terre
|
| That's not surprising if one of the first wine of the sicily
comes from the province of Trapani: Bianco d'Alcamo is a rewarded
wine, a Doc wine since 1972. The itinerary begines at Alcamo
as far as the western extremity of Sicily, Capo Lilibeo, where
the amber-coloured Marsala is famous since 1773 thanks to
an Englishman John Woodhouse. |

| Upon arrival in Palermo aiport, you meet
your escort, and you will be transfered by private means to
your hotel. For the rest of the day you are at leisure to
relax or stroll around and acquaint yourself with your new
surrondings. Dinner at a typical restaurant in Marsala. |
| >>2nd day ALCAMO - SEGESTA - ERICE |
| This morning you will enyoy a guided
sightseeing tour of Alcamo, famous for its wine, churches
and works of art. Cassateddi, Ricotta cheese sweets will be
served at a typical Sicilian confectioner's. Proceed to the
"Alcamo Doc" area, a fertile territory caracterized by vintage
vineyards, Wine tasting at a local winery. After a shorts
rest for lunch at a typical restaurant, continue to Segesta:
to visit one of the finest Doric Temples in Sicily. Proceded
to Erice, a medieval village, famous for the cult of Venus,
nowadays "City of the Science" thanks to the "Ettore Majorana"
centre for the scientific culture. Tasting of the typical
almond sweets. Overnight at your hotel. |
| >>3rd day MOTHIA - MARSALA |
| After breakfast your guide will take
you on a walking tour of the fenician island of Mothia. Proceed
to the visit of a winery, a tasting of the Marsala wine. In
the afternoon your guide will show you the town of Marsala
and the archeological museum "Baglio Anselmi", famous for
the wreck of the punic war ship (III th century D.C.). Overnight
at your hotel. |
| >>4th day SELINUNTE - GIBELLINA |
| After breakfast, we leave for the ancient
Greek Town of Selinunte, the biggest archeological park of
Europe(270 hectares): the Acropolis and the temples of the
Eastern Hill. Lunch at a tipical restaurant. In the afternoon
a sightseeing tour of the modern Gibellina and continuing
to Salemi for visiting the arab and jew areas of the village.
